The additive manufacturing market has grown rapidly in recent years, with more 3D printers being sold and used around the world. In fact, according to a report from Grand View Research, while 2.2 million 3D printers were shipped in 2021, these shipments are expected to reach 21.5 million units by 2030. As such, we have also seen an increase in the number of 3D printers available. From FDM to SLS to DED and more, there are a variety of machines depending on the process you are looking for. However, it can be difficult to know which 3D printer to choose. The E2CF industrial 3D printer is manufactured by Raise3D, a U.S. pioneer in flexible manufacturing, which helps customers improve their competitive advantage by leveraging the benefits of additive manufacturing. This FDM 3D printer is enclosed and has a large print volume: 330 x 240 x 240 mm when printing with a single head, and 290 x 240 x 240 mm when printing with both heads at the same time. This latest version includes new features such as a high-precision automatic platen leveling system, drying boxes for filaments and a reinforced extrusion system. The E2CF printer specializes in printing durable carbon fiber parts. It supports some of the more traditional materials by accepting only filaments and print profiles validated by the manufacturer. Examples include PA12 CF from Raise3D or filaments from BASF or LEHVOS. This professional 3D printer is designed to facilitate the 3D printing process.

In March 2021, the American giant Stratasys entered the powder market by launching its SAF technology for Selective Absorption Fusion. This new process was of course accompanied by a new machine, the H350. This industrial solution is equipped with multiple piezoelectric print heads capable of depositing high-energy absorption fluid drops on a 315 x 208 x 293 mm platen. The H350 3D printer is compatible with PA11, a polyamide that offers good ductility and high impact resistance. This is an ideal solution for designing finished products, molds and components that can withstand a certain load. On the software side, the H350 is equipped with GrabCAD Print, which allows users to prepare their 3D models in an easy-to-use and intuitive interface.

Zortrax, the Polish manufacturer of desktop 3D printers, has revealed a new version of its popular M200, the M200 Plus. Compared to its older sibling, it incorporates new features, including WiFi connectivity, but also a color touchscreen and a camera to monitor prints. The M200 Plus has a print volume of 200 x 200 x 180 mm with dimensions of 348 × 362 × 503 mm. The 3D printer is compatible with standard materials such as PLA, ABS or PP. In addition, the M200 Plus is compatible with the Z-Suite software. Finally, the printing plate has an automatic calibration. The Zortrax printer is intended for professionals. It is very popular with users of FDM technology.

Developed by additive manufacturing giant 3D Systems, the ProJet MJP 3600 Dental 3D printer is a solution in the ProJet MJP 3600 series designed specifically for the dental industry. Based on MultiJet Printing (MJP) technology, also known as Material Jetting, this machine has a maximum print volume of 298 x 185 x 203 mm. The high precision of the ProJet MJP 3600 Dental creates highly detailed parts with smooth edges and the fine grooves commonly found in the anatomy of dental applications. With a streamlined workflow, the 3D Systems solution has the professional features of 3D Sprint software and offers fast, easy, stand-alone post-processing with ProJet Finisher. As a result, the machine’s additive manufacturing system enables dental labs to reduce final production time and costs.

The HP Jet Fusion 5200 Series 3D printer promises enhanced manufacturing predictability for breakthrough levels of productivity. According to HP, the series offers excellent isotropy and consistent print times, no matter the part. The printer uses composites and polyamides and prints at 5058mm/second. It has a maximum volume of 41.01cm³. The HP 3D center can be used to monitor the process in real time while building is ongoing. In terms of post-processing, there is the option to cool the product within the build unit, or to use the Natural Cooling Unit. While the completed product cools, the build unit is available to begin the next project, increasing economic efficiency. The printer’s technical brilliance allows the user to scale production and expand into new markets.
